The Walton County School District is proud to announce its ranking as 2nd in the state of Florida for graduation rate, with an outstanding 97.4% of students graduating during the 2023-2024 academic year. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of students, teachers, administrators, staff, school board, and the entire Walton County community.
The Walton County School District continues to excel, improving upon last year’s 95.7% graduation rate while maintaining its position as a top-performing district. This statistic represents more than 743 students in our community who are prepared for the next step in their journey whether that is the workforce, college, military, or technical education. When charter schools are removed from the calculations, this statistic represents only six students who did not receive a diploma. The Walton County School District is committed to ensuring every child walks across the stage and graduates prepared to chase a future of their choosing.
Superintendent A. Russell Hughes expressed his gratitude for the district’s progress:
“To see our graduation rate increase again this year is a testament to our belief that every student can succeed. We are proud of the relentless dedication of our students, teachers, administrators, school board, and parents who worked tirelessly to make this achievement possible. We have increased the graduation rate more than 20% since 2016. That represents thousands of students who are prepared for a life of success after high school. We are all in the boat for the goal – and there is no seat for average.”
