Ms. Carroll is from Biloxi, Mississippi.  She went to college at Mississippi State University where she gained he Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  In addition to Elementary Education, she is also certified in Language Arts and Social Studies.  She has taught VPK, kindergarten, second and third grade.

Kimberly Gerhardt

Math

Mrs. Gerhardt grew up in sunny Southern California, where she attended and graduated from Eisenhower High School. Mrs. Gerhardt went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts degree from California Baptist University. Her love for learning and passion for teaching creates a classroom environment that inspires, motivates and encourages students.

Bob Grant

Social Studies & Language Arts

 

Mr. Grant came to the Gulf Coast via his Air Force family in 1964.  He grew up in Fort Walton Beach, attended Fort Walton Beach High School, Northwest Florida State College, and Florida State University.  He served 30+ years as a YMCA professional before retiring in 2012.  2017 begins his 5th year of teaching and his certifications include ESE, PE, Social Studies, and Language Arts.  His wife Kiersten is also a teacher and they have four children - Paige, George, Alyssa, and Anne-Marie.

Michele Holder

Language Arts & Social Studies

Mrs. Holder lived in Alabama prior to moving to Florida in 2007.  She attended Auburn University, Auburn University Montgomery, Troy University Montgomery.  Her undergraduate degrees are in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, and her master's degree is in Elementary Education.  In addition, she holds certification in Educational Leadership.

Sherri Jackson

Social Studies & Language Arts

Ms. Jackson is originally from Okaloosa County.  She graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  She is certified to teach all subjects K-6, and ESOL.  She loves to teach reading across all subject areas and has a passion for teaching kids how to think for themselves and become independent and responsible learners.  This is her 5th year of teaching and she is thrilled to be teaching in Walton County, and loving Emerald Coast Middle School.  Go Stingrays!

Ms. Murray was originally from New Hampshire.  She is a graduate of Lebanon High School. Ms. Murray went on to receive a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education at Keene State College.

Kimberly Ruck

Science

Mrs. Ruck was born in Chicago, Illinois but has lived most of her life in Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Richmond-Burton High School. Mrs. Ruck went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Wisconsin majoring in Education and Communication; she is certified to teach Elementary Education K-6 and Physical Education K-12.

Mallory Wright

Math

Mrs. Wright is from For Payne, Alabama.  She graduated from Auburn University with her Bachelor's of Science degree and University of Alabama with her Master's degree with focus areas of math and science.  Over the past thirteen years, she has taught several different grade levels including first, fourth and fifth through eighth grades.

Brandy Wesson

Language Arts & Social Studies

Mrs. Wesson was born in Pensacola, FL but grew up in Miami, FL.  She is a graduate of Miami Sunset Senior High School. Mrs. Wesson earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida International University and went on to earn a M.Ed. in Reading Education from the University of West Florida.

Renee Pitchford

Language Arts and Social Studies

Ms. Pitchford grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Mississippi College and is certified in Gifted Education from the University of Connecticut.  She has spent 17 years teaching ELA and Humanities content to upper elementary and middle school students.  Ms. Pitchford relocated from Atlanta in July 2017 and is thrilled to be living and teaching in Walton County.

Nancy Britton

Language Arts and Social Studies

Ms. Britton is from Falls Creek, PA, and graduated from Clarion State University in Pennsylvania.  She has taught English, Speech, Drama, and Gifted classes for forty-four years.  She just moved to the Emerald Coast and loves living here.  This is her first year teaching at ECMS.  She holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree and a Master's Degree in English and Speech.
